How it works

Congratulations, you said ‘yes’! Now your exciting journey begins.

I’m guessing that you don’t buy a wedding dress that often and it can all seem a bit overwhelming, but I am here to guide you through this, answer all of your questions, allay your concerns and solve your wedding dress problems.

In reality, finding a wedding gown that looks as though it’s been made just for you can be infinitely more challenging – and stressful. Perhaps you have a very unique style and a pre-made wedding dress just won’t reflect that.

You may prefer the romantic feel of a flowing, lace, boho-style bridal gown, but just can’t seem to find one that feels special enough for your big day.

And what about the brides who have set their hearts on a very specific style of black wedding dress?

Your Bespoke Experience

Working with me to design your handmade gown is a relaxing, yet incredibly exciting experience, as you watch me transform your wishes, ideas and dreams for your perfect dress into reality.  Together, we’ll spend as much time as needed, exploring a wide range of styles, silhouettes, luxurious fabrics and colours, to create a dress you’ll truly adore that will make you look and feel like you just stepped off of the catwalk.

A visit to my home studio is guaranteed to be a relaxing, friendly and informal experience, enabling you to escape the stresses and strains of wedding planning for a while; sit back and enjoy the process of creating your expertly designed, perfectly fitted and entirely unique wedding gown with me.

Bespoke Experience

Here’s an idea of what you can expect, when you choose me to create your bespoke gown:

    1. Come and meet me at my home studio in Heath and Reach, near Leighton Buzzard, for a complimentary consultation. I encourage you to bring photos of dresses you particularly like, along with magazine cuttings etc. We discuss your wedding plans, along with any colour scheme or theme you have in mind.
    2. I create a range of designs with corresponding prices.
    3. You visit me at my studio again to view the designs and choose one. At this point,  a 50% deposit is made and terms and conditions are agreed.  I will also take very specific measurements.
    4. I create the pattern for the dress, make a toile and invite you to my studio for a fitting. This is where you see your dream start to take shape!  Together we will collaborate to achieve the perfect fit and style to suit your curves and individual style.
    5. Once you’re completely satisfied with the design and have signed off the toile, I order the fabric and start to make your dress.
    6. When the dress is past half-made, I invite you for a fitting. There will be a minimum of two dress fittings in total.
    7. Once the dress has been fitted perfectly, I finish it, adding any beads or embellishments.
    8. The final balance is payable two  weeks prior to collection.
    9. Subject to availability, I am happy to attend on the morning of your special day, to dress you in your wedding gown.
